De-clutter and Recycle
Small things make a big difference
Up to 60% of the rubbish that ends up in the dustbin could be recycled, and you will be surprised at how many items can be recycled for the benefit of charities. The Catholic Children’s Society (Plymouth) in partnership with a collector in Plymouth will change your clutter into cash!
Orange collection boxes are now in parishes and schools throughout the diocese. Please place your stamps and things in the boxes and every box filled will raise £10 which the Society can use to help the children in our Diocese.
What can you put in the box?
STAMPS used or unused, UK or foreign. Stamps should be left on envelopes or cards, leaving about half a centimetre round the edges. They shouldn’t be peeled off as this reduces their value.
POSTCARDS with or without stamps
FOREIGN CURRENCY notes or coins
KEYS with or without their locks
WATCHES digital or analogue, working or not
MEDALS and METAL BADGES
What will this achieve?
5 boxes could provide a school uniform for a child
15 boxes could buy a new washing machine for a family
25 boxes could help pay a utility bill
35 boxes could help with childcare for a mum returning to work to support the family
50 boxes Could assist with the rent or deposit on a new home
