Talking about Sex

family with small childrenfor all concerned parents

Many parents find it difficult to talk about sexual matters with their children, and to handle issues that their parents never had to deal with. Although there are many books on sex education available, this programme is founded on the belief that parents value the opportunity to come together and find strength and support from each other, which makes all the difference in enabling them to talk and listen and act more effectively with their children.

The five sessions deal with:

  • You don’t need much information – When is a good time to start discussing sex with children?
  • Freeing children to love – listening about sex
  • Talking about sex
  • Dealing with problems – Looking at specific matters of concern
  • Positive sex education – Bringing it all together.

This programme has been developed by the Family Caring Trust, and uses a text book.  It could be offered in conjuction with sex education programmes for children in school.
